Krazy Kitten Momma on a Keyboard

Why do cats RUN to the nearest (or best) rug or upholstered chair or sofa to throw up on?

The exception is Thor who, last Thursday evening, very nicely threw up his previous five meals in my shower, then finished off the stomach gunk on a newspaper on the floor.

Then he sprawled on the bed, looking sad and pathetic until I'd worked myself up into a proper crazy cat lady frenzy and Jason promised to take the next day off from work to take him to the vet.

Two hours later, he was gobbling down food and acting like I'd imagined the whole thing.

Then I arrive home this morning to find out that Loki had yakked up all over the carpet last night and also did the I'm-going-to-die-routine. And he is fine this morning.

I don't know. It's weird. They have never thrown up before and now both of them inside a week? So, I had to call the vet and re-establish my reputation as the overly protective cat mom. But it could have been the vaccines they received. Or it could be some virus thing if they were both sick.

But it's probably nothing.

Better not be anything.

Thor sez: Sheesh mom, you are embarrassing me!

I love your writing and your photos. I too am a cat lover, our cat's name is Sullivan (Sully) I wanted a grandaughter with that name and my daughter said "No" so when we found this kitty she got the name.Pam from South Bend

I remember when we had cats as a kid finding the hairballs / cat yak on the floor in the middle of the night.....with your foot. It's like they plan it so you'll find it. Which is better than *not* finding it I suppose.

I've been told that there's some kind of cat "bug" going around. Miri had it for a few days. She couldn't keep anything down. Be sure to post an update on your babies.

Margo - they've been fine. I'm not sure what it was all about, but they each threw up once, acted sick for an hour or so, then were back to normal.

I hope your little one is better. Kittens scare me when they are sick ever since our little orange kitten died when he was 9 weeks old.

My cats (dunno which one actually) yarked twice in the past week, but I blamed the heat and switched them to dry food for a while.

I had bought all of this really expensive "clean" canned food for them, but they basically hate it and are jonesing for some Meow Mix like it was KFC.

I'm thinking of going back to their normally scheduled program, because no cat I've ever known has lived thirty years because someone fed it "clean" food. I think cats pretty much live as long as they live, whatever you feed them.

Glad to hear they're well. I guess they just figured it would be a good time to scare momma. ;-)
