No, not Thor and Loki.
Not even Jason and I, although I might qualify.
Just an observation that may be assistance to others.
About three years ago, I began a medication that caused my weight to skyrocket from about 135/140 up to 165 within three months. I have been slowly whittling away at it. Oh, for the days of yore when having a salad a couple times a week would knock off five pounds!
Last winter, my weight plateaued at 150. Would not budge.
Then I began a very concentrated effort to remove high fructose corn syrup from my diet.
The weight dropped to 148.
Then a month ago, I began drinking those Promise Activ 3 oz shots of essentially plant sterols (I find the peach flavor the tastiest). I began taking them to supplement my other cholesterol lowering activities.
My weight is now hovering around 144/145.
So, start reading your labels! No high fructose corn syrup! Guzzle plant sterols!
It'll be interesting to see what my cholesterol levels are this year. They hover just on the good side of acceptable.
Loki sez: I prefer crunches. I do two a day.

After being pretty healthy all of my life I've had some serious health issues in the last 4 years including weight gain. In April I stopped drinking anything but water.....and let me tell you I LOVED diet coke...especially the fountain kind....anyway I have lost 17 pounds. Yes I have watched my overall portion control.....but the main change is NO POP. I had been told that this would really help jump start my weight loss but I didn't believe it until I experienced it for myself. Dr Oz (oprah fame) says there is something in it that interupts the message to your brain that you are full and causes you to crave or continue to eat even after you are full. Pam, South Bend
Oh, man, now that I'm pushing 30 I've finally come to the conclusion that I can't eat like a teenager anymore. Nor can I eat like I'm pregnant, becasue well, I'm not. So in the past 6 months I've put on 10 pounds. I have to get a grip I tell you!
That no soda thing sounds interesting.
What the #*$&^ are plant sterols, and where would you get that stuff if you wanted to try it?
Who hooked you up with this idea?
Pam - I've also cut out sodas (the non-diet kind have high fructose corn syrup) and sweet tea. Coffee in the morning, water all day, wine at night.
Margo - I know! I used to be a 120 pound skinny minnie and could eat anything.
Marcheline- plant sterols are naturally found in, well.. plants and nuts, but the quantities are very low. They have been found to lower cholesterol and the Promise Activ stuff just came out, it's 2 grams, I believe, (meaning I'm too lazy to get up and walk to the fridge to check) and you just do a shot every day.

I don't drink calories either - tea, tea, tea.
Ooops...except for the occasional Corona, margarita etc. etc. Medicinal of course.
