Camellia Hunting

Jason had a photo shoot this afternoon, so I took advantage of the sunny weather and went to Magnolia Plantation to see how the camellias are coming along. They won't be in full bloom until late December into January, but there were some getting started with the winter show.

Along with the camellias were some very confused azaleas:

Pam - glad you enjoyed them. And to think, I felt it was chilly because it was in the low 50's and windy off the river when I took these.

I miss the Camellias from South Carolina! I used to go to a nearby park during my lunch hour just to take pictures of Camellia blooms.

I haven't seem many here in FL - I think it's too hot here.

So beautiful. My favorite place. "Encore" azaleas are supposed to bloom spring and fall. Mine never do, but they are advertised to.

Joan - I don't know what is in the soil at that spot, but those azaleas are blooming every time I go there!

Pixel - Aren't they beautiful? I'm not much of a green thumb, but I just love all the different colors and varieties there are.

Beautiful flowers! Thank you!
Not too warm here in Brooklyn, either, but we haven't had a frost yet, so there's still the occasional rose bush blooming (usually with only one rose) and some snapdragons--in December!
