You Say It's Your Birthday
well, happy birthday to you!
Twenty eight years ago today, my son was born. (You may know him as the man-child as he is referred to around here.)
He was born to a wonderful mother who loved him very much and was an awesome mother until a person decided he had the right to separate mothers from their children.
I was given the great honor of becoming his mom when he was about two and a half years old.
I stumbled and bumbled my way into motherhood. Did a lot of things wrong, but did a lot of things right also.
We went through a lot together, the man-child and me.
If anyone had reason to grow up to be an angry, bitter person, it would have been the man-child, but no.
He has grown into a man that I am amazed every day that I had any hand in raising.
He has honorably and successfully served our nation in the Navy for over 6 years now. He is a smart, talented, razor-sharp witted, kind and compassionate man.
In addition to being in the Navy, he is the lead guitarist in a very popular Virginia Beach area band and plays and sings almost every weekend somewhere around the area.
Happy Birthday Danny!

Thanks, Mom! I couldn't have done any of it without you... I thank you for helping to shape me into the person that I am today, and more importantly, if not for you, I might not have made it this far. A thousand times, thank you.
D
Everything you are, you made the choice to be. Every success you've had, you did the work to attain it.
You are the best! Ever!
