Marvelous Monday

Marvelous because:

I've taken a random week off from work. I have the worst problem: I have too many paid time off hours accumulated and am in constant danger of capping out so I'm forced to just take time off whenever possible. Horrors.

I'm turning the keyboard keys red because I bought a pound of fresh cherries this morning and now cannot stop eating them.

I've got my Pandora Allman Brothers radio station (heavy on Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi, the Stones, and Creedence with a smidgen of Lynyrd tossed it) cranked up to ELEVEN and I can if I wanna cos I'm a grown up.

I don't really have to clean out and paint the laundry room if I don't want to because writing is more important.

I will actually be off this Saturday and able to attend a Charleston Center for Women's Women Writers Forum.

No-one has hissed at anyone yet today.

Thor sez: Just give him a minute, I'm sure something will freak him out by sundown.

I do that too. I end up buying back 2 weeks each year to spend on the vacation I do take. I give one week to United Way etc.

My problem is figuring out how to take it. I end up working so hard to make up for it when I get back it kills me. Enjoy your break!

I'm lucky that I don't have work to "make up" when I get back!

Do you people not understand the person who said, "I regret that I didn't spend enough time at the office?? - PULEASE, I appreciate you dedication, but you must take time OFF. I came here to post this that is just read and LOVE it:
Puppies, kittens, infants: All adorable. And do you know why? Because they're tiny. If you start to magnify these things, then you wind up with the substantially less cute wolves, jaguars and teenagers.

Auntie D - The "problem" is that our company has such marvelous benefits that once you are in the top accrual rate, your time racks up more quickly than you can take off.

Also, I let 12-16 weeks accumulate as the 3-4 months of salary that one is supposed to have saved at all times. So when I do start taking time off, I'm already at the upper limits.

Plus, I only work 3 days a week so I have plenty of time off without taking any more.

I dunno know about Joan though, I think she's just crazy. ;)~
