The boyz love each other again.
It took a little longer for the reconciliation because I couldn't even begin until the giant economy sized dehumidifier and the three industrial strength fans were moved out of the kitchen.
Thor had to stay on that side of the house because he wasn't afraid of all the noise.
Thor sez: Yep, I'm brave.
Poor dessicated little thing.
Loki sez: Yum, tastes like cat jerky!
But the restoration people came yesterday and all the moisture is gone from the floor and the little bit from the back wall under the sink. They are making up a estimate for repair. The insurance adjuster is coming this morning. Joy.
The boyz say: Another stranger is coming to the house?

Water damage is no fun! I've been through it 4 times - washing machine, ice maker, toilet and under sink! - do we have questionable plumbing practices? These things shouldn't fail.
Yikes! I can't even begin to imagine going through this 4 times.
Scary thing is that this was completely hidden, if the water hadn't started dripping on the air duct, which is what I heard echoing up the air vent, who knows how long it would have gone on.
Good things are it was a simple plumbing fix, we caught it pretty early, the subflooring is okay, I've got a good restoration company, my insurance will cover most of the cost and paying the deductible, while not fun, isn't a burden.
